  • Accounts Manager

We are small but fast-growing accountancy firm based in London. As we continue to grow an exciting opportunity has arisen for a meticulous and experienced Financial Accounts Manager to join our busy team and oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and client portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting standards and regulations, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.

This role has high visibility within the Senior Management team and the opportunity to move into a senior role within practice. The role requires a qualified accountant with a strong track record of financial reporting and an experience of managing taxes including VAT, corporation tax and payroll taxation. The successful candidate will demonstrate a result driven mindset with an approach to continuously seek process improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, staying abreast of new developments.
  2. Manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  3. Ensure and review accurate recording of transactions in accordance with HMRC and Companies House guidelines and compliance requirements.
  4. Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, ensuring tasks are organized and completed in a timely manner.
  5. Manage client relationships, including monthly, quarterly, and yearly tasks, with regular meetings to address queries promptly.
  6. Oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts, including FRS 102 section 1A, FRS 105 micro-entity accounts, and tax returns for Companies, Partnerships (SA800), and Sole Traders (SA100).
  7. Review and finalise VAT returns, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of cross-border transactions.
  8. Manage CIS returns (CIS300) and Subcontractor Statements, ensuring accurate reporting.
  9. Proficiency in using major accounting software e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with other software such as Taxfiler is beneficial.
  10. Excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  11. Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, analyzing financial data and identifying trends and growth opportunities.
  12. Experience handling tax returns for non-established taxpayers and dealing with non-resident landlords.

 

 

About you:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA qualification preferred.
  • To be considered for the role you should have at least 3 years in UK practice.
  • You should be able to manage your own portfolio of owner managed business clients. Thorough understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
  • You are willing and able to work under pressure and cope with demanding deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Annual Salary £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience

Responsibilities:


- Hybrid role – Office is based in London

- Identify and target potential clients within the UK. Your main target market will be UK based businesses.

- Conduct in-depth research to understand client needs.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan to achieve or exceed sales targets. Report directly to the Director who will assist you with development. (Not Micro Managing)

- Collaborate with the Accounting teams to provide excellent service that meets client specifications.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in B2B sales. A minimum of 5 years experience within an Accountancy Service sector

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.

- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of achieving and surpassing sales targets.

- Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.

- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.


The Package:
